Inversion Canticle

O Thou art truly the final note of my purpose Dying on High trembling
From Thee springs all Eternity I sought Eternity I sought Thee only
In Thee my Beauty I wrapped my heart and gave it up to the Light
Yet Now hast thou summoned me here to This Place
I have not known

I cannot live here Try to understand I cannot because it Ends
I still seek Eternity but I failed  thou wert in my grasp  I failed
I saw my Failure going away from me fluttering dancing
Failure that is Eternal I found it I lost Thee and found it
There is the Paradox I lost Eternity I lost forever
Nothing is forever but the search for Forever
I am still searching I am trying to stop

Thou must save me  Thou must tell me It Is Not Forever
Whisper cruelly to me Nothing Is Forever  It Will End
I can hear it only from thy parted lips else I fall away
Yet I have fallen   Here am I solitary on this stage
with transparent Eternity refracting my eyes
I hear it mock and it is Thy Laughter I hear
I have nothing mature so I must forge
a new Heart in the warmth of
my Beautiful Dream

I must journey to the Old World steal my heart
Meet the stranger who is me  Drink the Sky
And thou wilt aid me for I command it
Thou wilt teach me again to Love
My future ever shalt be thine

Yet hast Thou thyself not shaped it this way?
My Heart is lost and I will never get it back
Art thou so devoid of charity thou canst
Not grant me the strength to
Change the World?

Art thou so cruel thou wouldst leave me Powerless to disengage
Thou wouldst leave me seeking the everlasting light of God
But I have known it: thou mayest not allow me Eternity
Thou must Give Me an End   Thou shalt Ruin me
Thou shalt not only take my Heart indelibly
thou must Destroy it and
Thus Extinguish me

How beest thou at Peace?
