Un Poeme en
Couleurs
by Zoe
Black.
Black as a sack.
Wait
sacks aren't black.
Sacks are brown, not black.
But what good is the phrase
'As black as a sack'
If sacks aren't black?
Um
I'll get back to that.
Red.
Red as a
Red as a head.
Heads aren't red.
Unless they have red
Hair, or they were sunburned instead.
Red? Black? This hurts my head.
Blue.
Blue as a
loo.
A loo is not blue.
A loo
Can be shiny and new
But not blue.
Moo?
One thing's for sure
blue
Is GROO-
VY!
Green.
Green as
a
spleen.
Are spleens green?
I don't know if they're green.
Ask a doctor, or one who has seen
Whether my spleen
Is green.
Yellow.
Yellow as a cello.
CELLOS ARE NOT YELLOW!
Cellos are brown, not yellow.
First black; now yellow.
I'm not even bothering to rhyme anymore.
Orange.
Orange as an orange!
Hmm
I
don't
think
that
will
work
Brown.
Brown as a town.
Towns are not brown.
I am mad.
This is not working out.
Violet.
Violet.
Oh, let
Us forget
About violet.
Pink.
Pink as a
Hmm, let me think.
As pink as a sink?
Someone must be out of the rink
Is they have a sink
That is pink.
Pink ink?
Hmm.
White.
White as a white
Night.
White
Night
Where nothing is in sight.
As white
As a white
Kite.
(Which is white)
I think I will go watch T.V. for a while. |
