I'm replaying the Secret of Monkey Island (that's the first one, for those of you non-enlightened). Sure, the graphics are... like, bad, and stuff, and there aren't any voices *weep* but it's FUNNY O_O()()() Plus the people's faces when they do close-ups look all realistic-ish and not cartoony like in other games. Sure, I prefer cartoony faces for them generally, but Guybrush looks kinda like Brad Swaile! (Yeah, I wish.) I'm on the Sea Monkey and I have like one more ingredient I need to add to the soup, and I totally forgot what it is even though this is the third time I've played through the game. Maybe I'll cheat, hmmm! No, I think I won't. Unless I get really frustrated. It's interesting. As far as original play-through goes, I didn't have to cheat at all on Monkey Island 1, cheated exactly one time on Monkey Island 3 [and I felt dirty about it too because as soon as I cheated on it I found out it was the last puzzle], cheated once for real on Monkey Island 4 and asked mum for hints twice [she cheated a couple times too], and then on Monkey Island 2 I cheated like.. twenty million times O_O()()() That game really wasn't as good as the others, either. Guybrush has a beard. AAACK. It's kind of a groovy beard as far as beards go, but some people just shouldn't have beards. I guess the creators thought so too, cos it was gone by the time 3 came out. There's this one part where the Voodoo Lady is like "Didn't you have a beard the last time I saw you?" and Guybrush is all "Yeah, I did! A really cool one, too. I wonder what happened to it." Ho ho ho. Hearty laughter. No, really. Okay, no, not really. But kind of. As for other games of this type and my cheating record, I never cheated even once on Day of the Tentacle [which rukes], and I also never cheated on Sam & Max Hit the Road. ...course I also never finished that one. Eh heh heh!
I'm almost done with The Great Gatsby. Gatsby's cool, but he'd be cooler if he acted more like Bertram Wooster. O_O()()()()
"Do you like ice cream more than [you like] justice?" ~a very tough question posed by M. Taylor, the choir president
So like. About nasty moths and my toothbrush. I got a new toothbrush; it's purple and groovy, I really like it a lot. I left the moth and the toothbrush in the cup of hydrogen peroxide and it's almost all evaporated ^_^()()()() And in the mean time another moth fell in and died O_O But there are still nasty moths all over, and there was one on the wall in the bathtub, and I needed to make myself clean, so I was trying to get it to go away and was looking around for something to poke it with to provoke it into flying far away from the bathtub. The drama of my experience is here retold:
Moth: *is nasty and gross*
Rachel: *pokes moth with Q-tip*
Moth: :O! *flutters to spot about 5 mm away from previous spot*
Rachel: T_T [thought: YOU NEED TO GO FARTHER AWAY.] *pokes at moth again*
Moth: *smears half its guts on the wall and falls into the bathtub*
Rachel: *shrieks and drops Q-tip into bathtub with languishing moth*
-Interlude-
Rachel: *washes moth remains down the drain and takes shower*
Thank you, thank you... I should get it published, I know, but what can I say? I really am just an idealist at heart.
So like, the Region clinic starts tomorrow after school and I dun-wanna go x_x It's tomorrow afternoon from 5-8, then Saturday from like 9am-7pm or whenever the concert ends. I hate giving up weekends. I'm selfish that way. It's kind of weird... I mean, I spent a week at a thing in the summer to learn all the music and have been doing sectionals and everything since then to learn the music more so I could do this thing, and I really don't want to do it. ... but even back then I wasn't doing it for Region. I don't care much about Region choir. I want to make All-State. Of course, it's all such a drag. I mean, I want to do this, but I don't want to do it. I want to be in All-State and sing beautiful music and stuff, but I don't want to be nervous through auditions and give up hours and hours of time to practise. Yeah, you dig. Bwa.
Yesterday we had early dismissal =D =D school got out at 2. It normally ends at 4. However, this year, since we're not getting as many holidays as we had last year, we get early dismissal a couple of times every six weeks. I personally think school should *always* go from nine to two. As for today, rather than the 9-4 of most days or the 9-2 yesterday or even the 9-5.15 sectional day, I got 8-5.15 x_x Top Ten sectional in the morning and Region sectional after school. x_x But I made it! *pose!* Even in spit of the severe weather which attempted to thwart me! =O That's right, children, we had SEVERE WEATHER TODAY. There was lots of rain and wind and lightning and stuff, hurray! Also tornadoes, which aren't cool. But the rest is cool. I don't think the tornadoes hit anything, though, cos I woulda heard something by now, so that's good. At my school, there's this... depression thing in the ground that always turns into a lake whenever it rains. It was *empty* and *dry* this morning, and by the time I was going home, it was full and overflowing so that I had to wade through about four inches of water to get to the parking lot over the sidewalk. Maybe the return of Lake [name of high school omitted for the protection of its faculty and student body] also heralds the return of tiny smaller-than-cricket frogs! Yaaay! But because of tornadoes, everything was like.. yellowish.. and ugly.... not beautiful the way it's supposed to be during storms. But it was only yellow and ugly for a while, and then it turned grey and purple and lovely ^___^
I had... something.. else... I was going to specifically talk about.... uhhh.... I was wrong, I don't have 67 kinds of Tetra Master cards, I have 72. Despite my 1042 Card Game points and "Advisor" rank, I really think I quite suck on the card game. I often lose badly and have to reset ^_^()()()()() Every once in a while I get in a groove and win Perfects and stuff and all, but you know. We all have off days.
This morning I was at my sectional thing and Carissa was standing next to me and all of a sudden she goes "Sick, it's a bug!!!" and picks up her music stand and runs with it across the room. And I look down and sure enough, there's a worm or millipede thing crawling around on the floor, and I'm like "huh." (it was moving slowly and not very close to me, that's why I was able to be so calm) And Stanton comes over and kicks it away, and I go "STANTON!! That was mean!!!" And he's like, "oh, I'm sorry, Worm Rights Activist." And I'm like ^_^() I think I am an activist for the lesser life forms. O_O() When I was in 1st grade, this guy Danny killed a worm and I was really mad at him. And in 5th grade this girl Brittny killed some ants and I was mad at her too. I mean, it's malicious. ^_^()()()() They weren't even fire ants, you know? BUUUT anyway. The millipede/worm [I think it was a millipede, but everyone called it a worm] was still alive and crawling around, and every once in a while I looked back to see where it was at, and once I looked over and I didn't see it anywhere. Now, I had seen it pretty recently and it really wasn't moving fast, so I knew it couldn't really have gotten that far away. And I'm all to Frances who was now next to me since Carissa abandoned ship, "Where'd the bug thing go? It was crawling toward you last time I saw it." and she's like "AAAH!!! It's stuck under my shoe!!!" and she had stepped on it by accident ^_^() So she shrieked and kicked her shoe across the room, ominously foreshadowing a scene later in the day frighteningly similar only with a Q-tip instead of a shoe. ..Well, maybe it was a location thing.
